Since 1781 from Fornet, a small village in the Valgrisenche, now buried by the water of the Beauregard dam, our maternal grandparents descended so far to stock up on wine and chestnuts to overcome the long mountain winters; in 1969, encouraged by his friend Pino Albaney, Papà Dauphin began bottling his own wine to present it at the “II exposition des vins du Val d’Aoste”; starting from this fair, the company went from 3,000 square meters of vineyard to the current 7 hectares, and the 5 sons were involved in the activity.
The company is located on the border of the Municipalities of Quart and Saint Christophe where the vineyards of Tzeriat, Rovetta, Creton, Touren a Quart, Tzantè de Bagnère, Merletta and Pleod Castle in Saint Christophe are located. The vines initially cultivated, in addition to the traditional Petit Rouge, were the Gamay, the Pinot Noir and the Petite Arvine, while at present the autochthonous varieties such as Fumin, Cornalin, Prëmetta and Vuillermin are also being cultivated.
The cultivation techniques are deeply linked to respect for the environment, therefore it has been since 1975 that insecticide and acaricide treatments are not carried out and the fertilizations are carried out rigorously with fertilizers of organic origin. One of the first companies in Valle d’Aosta to be certified in organic, in 2011.
