History

The winery was founded in the 1930s as a family-run mixed farm. Over the years, the family decided to dedicate itself exclusively to the cultivation of vines and the production of wine, concentrating its production almost entirely on the most suitable hilly part of Savorgnano del Torre, realizing that the best wines came precisely from that particular arenaceous marl soil. The first labeled bottle dates back to 1978.
Today the winery is managed by Alessandro and Manuele Sara (fourth generation) who manage about 10 hectares in Savorgnano del Torre, in the Friuli Colli Orientali designation of origin, under a certified organic regime.

Description of the winery

We mainly grow autochthonous vines (Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Refosco dal peduncolo rosso, Picolit) that have always been present in our territory, those that have had time to adapt over the years to our microclimate and are the perfect testimony in its characteristics and identity.
We practice certified organic agriculture that accompanies and respects the different vegetative phases in a natural way.
In the cellar we do not use invasive practices and any type of forcing but only a traditional and correct vinification (soft pressing of whole grapes for white wines, long macerations in uncovered vats for red wines) in order to keep the territorial olfactory and gustatory heritage of the grapes as unchanged as possible.
All these components are an integral and essential part of our philosophy based on obtaining the maximum expression of our territory.
